Local entrepreneur from Whitley Bay has come up with a run away idea, after setting up a fitness motivation business with the help of The Business Factory.
The Business Factory, based on Wallsend high street, is North Tyneside Council’s one-stop shop for budding entrepreneurs to get all the advice and support they need.
Craig Smith 46, found himself being made redundant after an extensive career as a sales manager. With no jobs immediately within the North East, Craig decided to research the market and come up with a business idea of his own.
Craig is the founder and producer of "Jogpods”, specially designed running / jogging sessions of music combined with live narration from top UK personal trainer, Michael Warren.
Michael Warren is fast becoming one of the leading health & fitness experts in personal training here in the UK, and has worked with Craig to bring specifically designed training which includes, Advice, Coaching, Focus Tips, and Motivation.
Each Jogpod session begins with a 5 minute warm up, and ends with a 5 minute warm down. This allows joggers to prepare the body for the main working phase of the sessions and helps against future injury and muscle strain.
The
main working phase of the sessions are energising and motivating and are a
combination of 'Steady State', 'Interval', 'Tempo', 'Race Pace' & 'Easy
Jog' profiles.
The music represents each profile in BPM (beats per minute) and the personal
training offers 'Advice and Coaching', 'Focus Tips' and 'Motivation'.
Prof Philip Preshaw is also on board as well as being one of the founding members of JogPods, in his other life, Philip Preshaw is a professor at Newcastle University.
Craig said: "The help I have received from the Business Factory has been a fantastic starting point for our business, they were extremely enthusiastic about my idea and product. My business adviser Andrew has been an enormous support in showing me how to take my business forward.
